Dr. Dennis J. Khoury completed his undergraduate studies at Boston University before attending medical school at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. After his internal medicine residency at Milwaukee County General Hospital, Dr. Khoury served as a physician in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After completing his term in the army, Dr. Khoury was the chief ophthalmology resident at Washington Eye Center in our nation's capital. He then earned a retina fellowship at the distinguished Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England.
Dr. Khoury relocated to Philadelphia to become the Director of Retina Services at Hahnemann University, where he extensively taught and supervised the ophthalmology residents during eye surgery and clinical care. Dr. Khoury entered private practice at his present location in 1981.
Dr. Khoury is a board certified ophthalmologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Khoury is a current member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Khoury holds medical staff privileges at Nazareth Hospital. He presently does eye surgery at Liberty Eye Surgery Center in Northeast Philadelphia.
Dr. Khoury has lectured internationally in his areas of expertise, which include cataract and intraocular lens surgery, laser surgery, and retina disorders including treatment of diabetes and macular degeneration.
Dr. Khoury and his wife Jeanne have raised their six children in the Philadelphia area. They are the proud grandparents of five granddaughters and five grandsons.
