Benjamin A. Kauffman, M.D.

KauffmanBenjamin A. Kauffman, M.D. was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburb of Mt. Holly, NJ. He attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ for his undergraduate degree, after which he received his medical degree from UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. He then completed a one year transitional internship at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Center - Manhattan in downtown New York City.  Subsequently, he completed his training in ophthalmology at UMDNJ - Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. During his intensive training, Dr. Kauffman was involved in numerous clinical trials and research papers. It is not surprising that his interest and expertise lies in the advanced techniques of cataract surgery as well as macular degeneration and glaucoma.

He is active in ophthalmology on a national level and is currently a member of the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.  Dr. Kauffman is a board certified ophthalmologist in the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

In his spare time, he enjoys skiing and bicycling, volleyball and design and assembly of computers. He lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife and two children.
